NUTCRACKER
Boston Ballet, 2024-Present
Artistic Director: Mikko Nissinen
Costume Designer: Robert Perdziola
Redesigned in 2012 and refurbished annually, The Nutcracker requires ongoing, detailed costume maintenance each season. As Costume Crafts Artisan, I led major refurbishment projects, including rebuilding internal headgear for the mice, Nutcracker, bunny, and bear headpieces to improve dancer safety, comfort, and stability during physically demanding scenes. I also redesigned and re-articulated the mouse tails to prevent extension-related tripping hazards, painted and distressed mouse gloves, and hand-painted all ballet slippers used onstage.
Boston Ballet
Across a range of Boston Ballet productions, I provided comprehensive costume crafts support, specializing in the refurbishment and adaptation of existing costume pieces to meet ongoing performance demands. My work included custom dyeing tights and specialty fabrics, painting all stage footwear, and ensuring visual consistency across multiple casts. A key area of expertise is color-matching dancers’ skin tones using Pantone references, allowing me to accurately replicate complexions through both dye and paint for seamless onstage integration.
Horror Costumes
Thirteenth Floor Entertainment, 2015-2019
I designed and fabricated highly durable, performance-ready costumes for use in immersive haunted houses, themed events, and promotional marketing campaigns for a national haunted entertainment company. My work encompassed costume design, construction, crafts, and select prosthetic and special effects elements, with an emphasis on layered texture, distressing, and long-term wearability in physically demanding environments. Drawing inspiration from each attraction’s narrative and thematic framework, I collaborated with creative teams and individual performers to translate character concepts into detailed sketches and fully realized costumes, overseeing projects from initial design through final fabrication and implementation.
KING LEAR
Illinois Shakespeare Festival, 2022
Costume Designer: Kathryn Rohe
As Costume Crafts Technician, I specialized in aging and distressing techniques to support the production’s visual storytelling. I also designed and constructed all headpieces, including jeweled crowns, floral crowns, turbans, and armored helmets, ensuring historical resonance, durability, and cohesion with the overall costume design.
Men on Boats
Illinois State University, 2023
Costume Designer: Jenefas Okonma
For this production, I served as cutter/draper, supervising a team of students through the construction, stitching, and alteration of costume pieces. I provided technical guidance and mentorship to ensure high standards of craftsmanship and timely completion. In addition, I engineered a custom padded bodysuit to create the visual illusion of a single arm for the lead actor, integrating specialized fabrication techniques to support both performance and storytelling.
Dye work
This collection features a range of custom dye work developed across multiple projects, utilizing techniques such as shibori, cold-process dyeing, and ombré applications. I work with a variety of colorants and surface treatments—including union dyes, acid dyes, leather dyes, and textile paints—to achieve precise color transitions, layered effects, and durable finishes tailored to design requirements.
Cosplay
This section showcases a selection of original cosplay projects, presented alongside their source materials. For each costume, I executed the complete build process, working with materials such as foam, thermoplastics, leather, and sheet metal. My work included flat patterning, draping, prop fabrication, wig styling, and makeup design, resulting in fully realized, detail-driven interpretations that balance craftsmanship, durability, and visual accuracy.
Millinery & Headpieces
This collection highlights original millinery and headpiece designs created for a range of performance and presentation contexts. My work incorporates techniques such as wool blocking, flat patterning for soft caps and horsehair-structured hats, and custom engineering to balance aesthetics, weight, comfort, and durability. Each piece is designed with practical use in mind, ensuring stability and longevity in rehearsal and performance environments.

Makeup & Prosthetics
This section showcases original makeup and prosthetic designs developed for stage and character-driven performance. My process includes life-casting, mold making, and sculptural fabrication, using materials such as silicone, latex, plaster, alginate, and gelatin. I complete all surface finishing and coloration using cream makeup palettes, alcohol-based palettes, and silicone pigments, ensuring realistic textures, durability, and seamless integration under stage and camera lighting.
